Firecrackers

Hey everyone! Firstly, Happy Eid! And welcome back to my 3rd entry. Honestly, for this time, maybe this entry will not be as long as my others entry before, because I don’t have so much idea. The title of my entry that I like to share with you guys for this time is about FIRECRACKERS! Like you all knows, firecrackers is one of the things that ‘must have’ in the list during Happy Eid. Without this, the night of Happy Eid will not be as fun as you guys think. So, this is a few of my story about firecrackers during this time of Happy Eid.

First of all, model of firecracker ? Hahaha.

This is a few scenery when at my mother’s hometown, Kampung Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur. Before that, now, I’m the person who doesn’t like to play the firecrackers. Not same as when I’m a kid. So, all of this videos and pictures, are all from my father’s help. If the quality of the pictures and videos that my father have been captured are not as you guys expected, I’m so sorry.

I don’t know the name of this firecracker, but the thing that I am really sure that I know about this firecracker is first, for me, the sound of this firecracker are the most annoying that I’ve been heard. This sound of firecracker are so loud! I hate it!

Eventhough most of my relatives knows that I am scared to play firecrackers again, but honestly, until now, I still love to play this firecracker that I called as ‘cone’ firecracker because it shape is like a cone. I don’t know the exactly name of this firecracker

‘Cone’ firecracker

When it light up, it will become like this. Beautiful right ?

Ok, guys. Now, let’s see for a few videos and pictures that are related with activities that I, my families and relatives have done when at my father’s hometown, Wakaf Bharu, Kelantan
Try to make the 'pop-pop' firecracker that doesn't pop, become pop.

The most famous firecracker among the kids, ‘pop-pop’. Maybe because this is the most safe firecracker. Anyways, this firecrackers is suitable for adults and teenagers like us too! Even you can’t see this image of this video properly but I think, maybe you guys can hear the sound of this ‘pop-pop’ firecracker.

One of my favourite firecracker too!

Besides that, I am able to snap a video of my uncles, cousins and brother, make some lamb grills.

I think that’s all for today.  The last video from me, hope you guys will enjoy it. Have fun!

Bazar Ramadan

The first day of Ramadan this year falls on a Saturday but I had the opportunity to visit one of Bazaar Ramadan (BR) near my home, Bandar Tasik Kesuma on the fifth day of Ramadan.

Usually, I always go to Bazar Ramadan at town of Beranang. Eventhough BR Beranang is smaller than bazaar Ramadan in Bandar Tasik Kesuma, I prefer the one in Beranang because the chances to buy delicious and unique foods is higher. I can get many traditional kuih-muih and rare foods which are not offered in BR Bandar Tasik Kesuma.

Bazaar Ramadan all over Selangor go into full action mode from as early as 4.00pm, closing before Maghrib, at 7.15pm, same goes to BR in Bandar Tasik Kesuma.

As well as strengthening discipline and self-control, Ramadan is also about spending time with loved ones over good food. What better way to celebrate and break fast than by visiting this bazaar.

My first trip to the BR Bandar Tasik Kesuma  was a quick one but here are some of the photos of the food that I managed to capture.

Big crowd as always

Some unique foods for me. First food is Popiah Basah Mama!

I quickly spotted at a stall selling murtabak, another famous dish during Ramadan.

One of the foods that must have in my food list at bazar Ramadan.

A food truck selling nasi arab. Quite a few stalls selling arabic food. Something I don’t see few years ago.

For people who love to eat Japanese food same like me, you can get this unique food, called Takoyaki at a cheap price!

Looking for drinks? There are plenty to choose. Different in colours, and of course different in taste!!

A new trend? A stall selling some 'weird juice' that I had never seen

Break a fast with family

Welcome to my first blog! This is a part of my English assignment that I have to do during my two weeks school holiday. Luckily the first day of Ramadan and for the next two weeks I will be at home with my lovely family.

Ramadan is the month most of us are waiting for. To all readers, I wish you a happy and blessed month of Ramadan. For the first entry of my blog is about foods!

On the second day of Ramadan my family and I "balik kampung" to my father's village at Kelantan. The journey was so tiring. Its a fasting month okay.

We arrived at destination fifteen minutes before azan maghrib. All the exhausting mode has gone. You can see why. Our appetizer for break fast on the first day and for the next day - the pink cendol.

It was fun break fast with my grandfather, grandmother, uncles aunties and my cousins were all there. You can see there were five jugs of drinks on the table.

pink cendol with some ice.

So cooling and refreshing.

After finished appetizers, we perform Maghrib prayer. Then came the best part, dinner with so many foods but the sad thing, I forgot to take picture because we were so busy eating.

Below were among foods I manage to snap.
I don't know the name of this kueh.

My cousin selling 'tuok nyior' - a kind of popular drink in Kelantan.

We were in Kelantan for two days. On the way back home, we drop by my uncle's house in Teluk Intan, Perak. The main dish for break fasting is "nasi kerabu', a Kelantanese delight. Its so unique because the rice are in blue color.

a traditional kueh

My auntie made raya cookies to sell for her colleague.

Back home, below are foods my mother cook for break fast.

One of my mother signature dish 'sambal lada hiris'. The ingredients are a lot chillies, big onions, ginger, garlics and 2 slices of tamarind peel.

There is a day when my father takes turn to cook. As usual his signature dish is chicken curry but with Kelantanese style. It taste so delicious. The only problem is he cook too slow.

Kelantanese style chicken curry

Sometimes with western style, grilled salmon. My brother like it so much!

My father also made delicious bread pudding.

Another favorite dish from my father, 'ikan singgang' or clear asam. The recipe was so easy. Just mix and boil mackerel fish, gigs, chilies, galangal and tamarind peel.

Sometimes a simple dish is enough.

There is a day when my mother a little bit 'lazy', so we order pizza for break fast.

the only raya cookies we manage to bake.
